Abstract

Dynamic competition had forced corporation in many sectors for applying innovation in order to survive and even compete as a result of globalization impact. This research is aimed to analyze influence of leader member exchange with psychological empowerment as a mediator to employee innovative work behavior in Bank Mandiri at City of Padang. Population of this research are 268 employees in Bank Mandiri at City of Padang. Using proportional sampling method, 160 employees were asked to complete questionnaire. Covariance Based Structural Equation Modelling (CB-SEM) is applied as data analyze and test the developed hypothesis. This research found that leader member exchange has no effect to innovative work behavior, leader member exchange has significant effect to psychological empowerment, psychological empowerment has significant effect to innovative work behavior. We also found that psychological empowerment as a perfect mediator through leader member exchange augment innovative work behavior.
